NBC Nature Count in the Burial Ground Back to main page

A nature count was carried out on Saturday 10th June 2023 in the Bell Lane Burial Ground. This was the second year that we did this count of all the nature at our Burial Ground from wildflowers, grasses and trees, to birds and insects.

In 2022 we found 68 different species, and in 2023 we identified 73. We plan to repeat this each year to track the impact of our measures to improve bio-diversity in this plot of land.

Down at the church a range of children’s activities were enjoyed; making insect hotels; an insect hunt; planting lettuce seeds; decorating biscuits; making bird pictures; and paper-plate bees.
